Caveats and thoughts ( Horizon Reference Link )

  • This took maybe 2 or 2.5 weeks. It was broken up a lot due to family stuff but that is my rough guess. I started modeling the day after speaking with Jeremy the first time.

  • I didn’t use any templates I eyeballed it just as a way to freely understand something new in my own way. Considering this I’m sure your eagle eye will see various proportional distortions. I took this as first step in shaking off rust and re engaging in tools and techniques. This exercise defiantly reminded me how much fun this is and I plan to make more and get back to making things vs being so heavily leveraged as a editor/engine person. Thus a good balance for myself is in order.

  • Modeling Technique was simple box modeling, mesh on the left, and applying a level 1 sub D modifier which brought the total triangle count to close to 50k total with all other bits included.

  • Props are not correct , I really need to see some to get that part correct, maybe its close?

  • Parts I didn’t articulate much: The piece from the motor in the nose I didn’t articulate too much since I wasn’t to sure how all that went together. Same with the attachment piece inside where the tail wheel is connected. I didn’t break apart the controls surfaces but I do recognize they need to be for functionality. I’m thinking the next one I do I will dive into that part of making it more functional in that way.

  • Thanks guys any thoughts or questions, do another one? Just let me know. I wanted to get this in unreal but for what ever reason I’m having a crash on start up I have yet to resolve. Waiting on them to get back to me as to a possible fix.
